The Role & Project:   As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People.
MACA is seeking a Cost Engineer to join our team working on this exciting new project on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster located in Queensland.

Role and Responsibilities The Cost Engineer will be responsible for controlling cost on MACA's civil projects.
This role involves ensuring that project costs are monitored, controlled, and reported accurately to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
The role will provide professional support to the Project Teams in all aspects of cost management including tracking managing costs, identifying potential cost savings to ensure the financial health of projects.
Duties include; Develop and maintain project cost control systems and procedures Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets and cost estimates Track project expenditures against the budget and forecast future costs Coordinate with procurement and contract administration teams to manage cost aspects of contracts and purchase orders Identify and analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions Generate regular cost control reports, including cost performance reports and forecasts Provide detailed cost analysis and reports to relevant stakeholders Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost records and documentation Review and update project budgets based on changes in scope, schedule, and resources Ensure that cost forecasts are aligned with project timelines and milestones Identify potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies Monitor and report on cost-related risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle To be successful in this role, you will possess: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field Minimum of 5 years' experience in cost control in civil construction environment Extensive experience in managing cost on lump sum fixed price contracts Advanced MS Excel skills (preferably excel VBA) Experience with JDE, Primavera P6 and Prism Working knowledge with Australian standard forms of contracts Knowledge of Power BI Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills ???????
