The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects.
We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities.
VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity: The Cost Controller will support the cost management and reporting of multiple projects including High Value and High-Risk projects in the Health Capital Program (HCP).
Reporting to the Senior Cost Controller, the Cost Controller will support and actively be involved in cost planning, controlling, systems & governance, and the successful delivery of the VHBA program of works.
As a Cost Controller, you will work with the Project Controls and HCP delivery team in a matrix setting ensuring VHBA meets ongoing internal and external progress monitoring and reporting requirements while providing support for the Project Team.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to all aspects of project cost control including allocating budgets, reporting cost deviations, cash flow reporting, cost forecasting, and change management.Support the development of business cases to provide the State with an accurate project cost estimate.Operate the Project Controls System to ensure cost control systems and procedures are implemented in accordance with established procedures.We are looking for: Knowledge of cost control principles including cost forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, and reporting requirements.Experience in critically reviewing cost data with strong analytical capability to understand complex and technical issues and provide effective advice to management.High degree of competency with various systems such as cost planning, finance, information management systems, and MS Office.Previous experience in large building or infrastructure projects, preferably health infrastructure projects and/or multidisciplinary projects in a similar role, along with a relevant tertiary degree such as Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction, Cost Management, or a related field.Application Process: To learn more about the opportunity and view the full requirements, please download a copy of the Position Description.
