Metro Trains Level Crossing Removal Team (MLXRT) have an opportunity for a Cost Controller to join our Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) Portfolio Finance team.
As the Cost Controller you will partner with the Level Crossing business to provide financial, analytical and reporting support to enhance decision making and maximise outcomes on business issues.
This will also include providing assistance with the implementation and improvement of the company's financial policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with the relevant Projects Alliance Agreements.
Key Areas of Responsibility Support the Finance Manager with finance and cost control reporting and administration of the Level Crossing Alliances, Project Shared Services and other miscellaneous projects Project manage LX Project Shared Services (PSS) including monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, transaction review/queries, cost allocation and transfer, POs, and miscellaneous cost recovery through PSS Work with Timesheet Champions to ensure timely submission of timesheet under the portfolio Manage month end processes as required including accruals, journal transfers, project invoicing, prudent margin calculations Assist with the preparation of Business Review reports, including preparation of consolidated project detailed reporting at Alliance and Metro Trains Melbourne level Cost control and administration of franchisee and development projects that are not specifically allocated to an Alliance Assist with outstanding Debtors for timely payment Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders including client representatives, internal Projects Group team members, Corporate Finance, Alliance commercial, financial and cost controllers Ensure compliance with project finance requirements to provide accurate, timely cost and claim management processes Seek & drive continuous improvements and processes for the business Desired Skills & Experience Formal Qualifications in Business, Accounting or Equivalent , CA/CPA highly desirable 3 years minimum experience in project cost control, finance, business administration and financial reporting systems High level of experience in using Excel, PowerBI and other MS suites Experience and knowledge of key project accounting concepts Experience in lump sum, design and construct, alliance and portfolios projects preferred.
Ability to liaise effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written).
Ability to cope with competing demands and significant volume for work.
