The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role: The prime focus of the role will be to participate in cost controlling activities to ensure the best utilisation of the project's resources, both capital and labor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering management (or equivalent)Bachelor's degree in commerce (or equivalent)White CardExperience: 5 years of experience in a similar based role with experience in cost controlling or project estimating on major infrastructure projects, preferably within a construction environmentExperience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects worksAdvanced user of Microsoft Excel and STR Vision CPMRequired Competencies: Demonstrated ability to develop sound working relationships with operations management in the delivery of value added management informationExcellent communication, organisational and problem solving skillsA pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Effective oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skills.Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepanciesProficiency in SAPCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Responsible for the progress, analysis and cost management of the project in compliance with the FGJV agreed budget and resources.Preparation and review of the executive budget twice a year or following a substantive changeAnalysis of the variance between estimated and actual costs in regard to personnel, inventory and subcontractors on a monthly basisCoordinate and work with the project management team to ensure the expenditures are kept within the project's budgetReporting to Finance Manager for 'on purpose' analysis and forecastMonitoring of the monetary progress of the projectEnsure expenditures are captured and recorded properlyConducting Gap Analysis of Cost Control ActivitiesAttends and audits the Project's construction site to ensure cost control procedures are appliedPreparing production statisticsPreparing the monthly reportEstablishing cost control proceduresDetermine the best utilization of resourceThe above listed authorities & responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
