Based in our CBD Project Office, the Lead Cost Controller will be focused solely on driving and managing Primero's Project Cost Control team on a $1 B Expansion Project.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Lead Cost Controller will be responsible for budget management, expenditure control and forecasting to assist our project teams in ensuring completion within approved cost, schedule, quality and performance criteria.
Reporting financial performance within a $1 Billion Project.
Your Key Responsibilities Establishment and monitoring of the project budget in the cost management software.
In conjunction with the Planners, align the schedule and cost via WBS.
Assist the development of the project controls plan and other project specific procedures and or processes.
Monitoring and analysing of commitments and actuals to ensure correct coding against the task number budgets to support accurate performance, commitment and estimate to complete.
Preparation of project forecasts, along with detailed analyses, trending, and commentary.
Collecting and reporting hours actual and earned.
Monitoring, analysing, and reporting change control with focus on key drivers of deviations and early trends.
Continuous communication and dissemination of change impacts maintained through the MOC register.
Prepare, collate, and deliver project reporting deliverables (internal and external) on behalf of and supported by the Project Manager.
What You Can Do University degree preferred (Commerce, Business, or similar discipline), but not essential.
AACE / ACES qualification preferred, but not essential.
7 - 10 years' experience in cost control essential, with +2 years in a senior role.
Experience in the Construction and Engineering, particularly in the Resources and Mining industries.
Experienced operator of a cost management tool essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong statistical and analytical reporting skills.
Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Power BI.
