About the Role You will play a significant role in ensuring the safety and security of our Centre as well as working with our talented multidisciplinary team aiding in the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders by: 
Handling a Case Management portfolio of offenders assigned to you where you provide first line and quality support in addressing their offending behaviour;Actively supporting and working collaboratively with the centres experienced and talented team which includes Experienced Correctional Staff, Clinicians, Health and Mental Health staff, and Alliance Partners to name a few;Conducting daily head counts and searching for contraband to assist with centre security;Escorting offenders to various appointments, including hospital visits and court appearances;Managing the visitors area of the prison and overseeing offenders visitation sessions;Conducting perimeter searches of the prison and controlling access of people in and out of the facility.The majority of shifts are structured as 12-hour shifts, facilitating a favorable work-life balance, typically equating to 7 shifts per fortnight. Please be aware that our center operates around the clock, 24/7. Therefore, following the completion of your training, you will be expected to work a blend of day, night, public holiday, and weekend shifts.

Be available to commence 19 August 2024 and attend the full time Monday to Friday 8 week pre-service training course concluding 11 October 2024.Be an Australian Citizen or a New Zealand Citizen who has entered Australia on a valid passport; or a Permanent Resident of Australia Hold a current, unrestricted or Probationary (at minimum) Driver's License for the relevant State Have the ability to obtain a satisfactory national security clearance Have the ability to work 12 hour shifts, days and nights, on all days of the week, including occasional weekends and public holidays About the Training As a Registered Training Provider (number 3570), GEO offers a wide variety of training programs which are nationally accredited.
Prior to commencement, all Correctional Officers complete a full-time paid 8-week pre-service Training Course and also work toward completing a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (CSC30120).
The 8-week pre-service course is delivered via a blended learning format and includes classroom based, on the job and practical and interactive training fully supported by our training and assessing team during and post completion of the course to ensure you are well equipped and confident to undertake your new career as a Correctional Officer.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an offer of full-time employment accompanied by an all-inclusive base salary of $78,466.65 per annum, along with superannuation (starting from November 14, 2023), and the accrual of 5 weeks' annual leave per annum (for full-time positions).
