Handle a Case Management portfolio of offenders assigned to you where you provide first line and quality support in addressing their offending behaviourActively support and work collaboratively with the Center's multidisciplinary team including Clinicians, Health and Mental Health staff, and Alliance PartnersConduct daily head counts and search for contrabandEscort offenders to various appointments, including hospital visits and court appearancesManage the visitors area of the prison and oversee offenders visitation sessionsConduct perimeter searches of the prison and control access of people in and out of the facilityMost shifts worked are 12 hours, which provides an excellent work-life balance.
Our facility operates 24/7, so you will be required to work a mix of day, night, public holiday and weekend shifts, once your training is completed.

Be an Australian Citizen or a New Zealand Citizen who has entered Australia on a valid passport, or be a Permanent Resident of AustraliaHold a current, unrestricted Driver's Licence for the relevant StateHave the ability to obtain a satisfactory national security clearanceAbout the TrainingAs a Registered Training Provider (number 3570), GEO offers a wide variety of training programs which are nationally accredited.
Prior to commencement, all Correctional Officers complete a full-time paid 8-week Training Course and also work toward completing a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (CSC30122).
This 8-week pre-service course will commence on Monday 17 February 2025 and will graduate on Friday 11 April 2025.
All successful applicants will receive at least 4 weeks' notice prior to the commencement of the course.
Should you be offered employment you will need to attend for the entirety of the course.
Some weekend work will apply due to the nature of the training.
About the RemunerationCommencing Trainee Correctional Officer rate is $33.86 p/h, whilst you complete your training.
The casual rate of pay upon course completion is $47.03 p/h.
Should you successfully complete the course and gain full-time employment, depending on Centre location, you will be paid a base salary of $82,173.65.
There is the ability to increase earnings by working additional shifts or overtime, when available.
All rates of pay will be in line with established Enterprise Agreement.
