Position Overview The position allows you to employ your strong management skills to effectively lead the Corporate Shared Services team in the timely delivery of professional services to the Reef Catchments Group. The Corporate Services team consists of finance, human resources, information technology, and business administration.
The position responsibilities include providing financial oversight and action key tasks for the Reef Catchments and Catchment Solutions Board, and sub-committees; developing budgets and scenario modelling; financial acquittals and coordination of annual external audits.
The position will be pivotal in shaping financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimising operations to help the organisation achieve its overall objective of improving our region's natural resources and environment.
Position relationships – Who you will be working with Aside from working with your team and project teams within Reef Catchments, you will be a part of the Senior Leadership Team, liaising with other members, including the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Strategy and Partnerships, and Program Directors as well as engaging with Board Directors and our subsidiary company Catchment Solutions General Manager.
About You We are seeking a highly collaborative professional with previous experience leading multi-functional teams, preferably in a not-for-profit or natural resources management environment. You will have demonstrated capability in driving innovation and delivering results while building trust and leading positive cultural change through our vision and values. You will have developed and implemented budgets, prepared financial reports, coordinated asset management, and overseen contract management services. Experience in supporting and advising Boards in matters relating to governance, compliance and risk will be highly regarded. A tertiary degree in a professional services field combined with high levels of emotional intelligence is considered essential.
Selection Criteria Qualifications in a relevant field such as Accounting (CPA/CA qualified) or Business Management with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in managing people, finances and business operations. Good understanding of finance and business administration practices particularly in the area of not-for-profit and Natural Resource Management (NFP and NRM desirable but not essential). Demonstrated skills in the development and implementation of financial budgets, reports and contractor management. Demonstrated experience managing staff in multi-functional and remote work teams, including workforce planning and staff performance management. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with and influence a diverse client base, including industry groups, government and Board Directors.
