We are seeking an exceptional Corporate Lawyer with expertise in work health & safety to join our legal team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a critical sector of the energy industry.
In this role you will: Manage assigned legal matters independently or coordinate with Powerlink's legal panel under senior lawyers' guidance Collaborate with customers to ensure practical and effective instructions to panel lawyers Oversee the provision of legal advice, ensuring it meets internal customer requirements in terms of timeliness, practicality, and cost-effectiveness Stay updated on legislative, litigation/regulatory, and commercial developments, providing insights on significant matters Strategically manage litigation or potential litigation to secure the best commercial and legal outcomes for Powerlink Engage with a large variety of internal and external stakeholders of all levels of seniority Your expertise - Bachelor of Law and a current QLS Practicing Certificate
- In depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: work health and safety, electrical safety and industrial relations
- Experience in providing expert and independent legal advice directly to relevant managers and employees under the guidance of Legal Counsel and Senior Corporate Lawyers
- Strong negotiation skills, capable of persuasively and effectively reaching agreements
- Understanding of the public sector, including regulatory agencies administering legislation impacting the corporation
