About the role
We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Corporate Lawyer, well-versed in Australian competition law, to enhance our Legal team. This new position will add to our current competition law expertise in advising on competition law and regulatory issues that arise across Origin's diverse energy business. This role will:
Provide expert legal advice to support Origin to comply with competition law and energy regulations.
Support Origin in managing and resolving regulatory investigations, disputes, and litigation.
Proactively identify and address competition law and energy regulatory risks across the organisation.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal service providers to deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, cost-effectiveness, and overall team culture.
What will you bring?
You will be an Australian qualified and admitted lawyer with at least 5 years of post-admission experience. Significant experience in advising on Australian competition law, as well as managing or responding to regulatory investigations and disputes. You will also be able to demonstrate:
Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritise in a high-demand, dynamic environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal issues to a range of audiences.
Ability to influence stakeholders and deliver beyond immediate legal matters.
Proactive, positive attitude and a practical, commercially focused approach.
Experience in disputes or dispute resolution is not essential but highly desirable.
Familiarity with the energy sector and energy regulation will be favourable.
