Your new roleThis multifaceted role provides financial and commercial insights to senior leaders, supporting strategic outcomes across corporate finance, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
You will play a key role in driving the organisation's financial ambitions by applying the capital allocation framework and conducting robust financial analysis.
Responsibilities include overseeing the capital allocation process, developing investment cases, evaluating financial models, and providing briefings to the Head of Corporate Finance and Group CFO.
You will also perform financial modelling and analysis to identify key value drivers and actionable insights to maximize shareholder value.
In addition, you will manage special projects, conduct research, and produce high-quality presentations for senior stakeholders, including the ELT, Board, and Shareholders.
Collaboration with the Corporate Finance Manager and Head of Corporate Finance will be essential for supporting the Business Plan and other strategic initiatives.
You will also be responsible for preparing presentations and documentation for acquisitions, strategic initiatives, and special projects, coordinating with external advisors, and working with the regulatory team to understand the impact of regulatory changes, particularly from bodies like the Australian Energy Regulator.
You will collaborate with the Tax and Reporting team on financial audits and tests, and with the Treasury team to develop debt management strategies and explore refinancing opportunities, including the preparation of presentations for debt investors and managing model audits.

We are seeking a Degree qualified professional in Commerce, Business, Economics, or another closely related discipline, complemented by experience in the financial modelling, infrastructure advisory or corporate finance division of a Big 4 accounting firm, the corporate finance function of an infrastructure company or investment bank.
The role requires complex financial modelling skills, with the ability to articulate how underlying drivers contribute to financial outcomes across all three financial statements, ultimately impacting valuation and key outputs, such as credit metrics.
A strong understanding of valuation methodologies and finance fundamentals is essential, along with experience in infrastructure-style valuation and operating models, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions.
The successful candidate should also have experience with financing processes and credit ratings, as well as knowledge of financial structures and credit metrics specific to infrastructure businesses and projects.
Attention to detail is crucial, including the ability to develop and implement effective error-checking methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are necessary, especially the ability to simplify complex analyses for key senior stakeholders.
Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive financial or commercial matters.
Candidates with strong strategic and analytical abilities and a deep understanding of business acumen within regulated network businesses are highly encouraged to apply.
