Our Legal & Compliance team is expanding, and we are actively searching for a skilled and dedicated Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic team. As a member of our Legal team, you will have the unique opportunity to engage with various business units, addressing a wide array of legal issues and providing commercially focused legal advice that drives meaningful and impactful outcomes for our customers.
You will be responsible for several critical areas of the business; all focused on providing our customers with the best experience by ensuring our products and services are safe and compliant. We are seeking a lawyer experienced in competition and consumer law—someone who can oversee and ensure our compliance with marketing and advertising requirements while also using their creative abilities to think proactively and offer innovative solutions in these areas.
This role will also support other members of the Legal team, including the General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel, Corporate Counsel, and support staff. Responsibilities will include various tasks and projects, such as providing general commercial advice, advising on commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and engaging with regulators as necessary, and advising on terms and conditions, terms of use, and internal policies and procedures.

Your day-to-day.
Reviewing marketing initiatives and collateral and proposals for new products and providing advice based on legal and regulatory requirements. In particular, ensuring compliance with competition and consumer law, federal and state-based legislation and various advertising and industry codes
Providing general commercial legal advice to the business in a wide range of areas, including advice in relation to commercial law, corporate law, contractual obligations, competition and consumer law, intellectual property law, privacy law, employment law, safer gambling and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing.
Assisting with responses to complaints and information requests, legal disputes, and litigation, including contractual disputes and disputes lodged with regulators.
Assisting with legal advice, growth projects and general compliance for the business.
Engage with external stakeholders as and when required, including responding to formal requests, preparation of submissions and reporting obligations.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements such as goods and services agreements, advertising agreements, media agreements, sponsorship agreements and licencing agreements.
What you'll bring...
2-5 years post-admission experience as a commercial lawyer, either in a private practice or an in-house environment.
Previous experience in the entertainment/wagering industry, although is not required, will be advantageous.
A broad range of knowledge of commercial and contract law, compliance, and dispute resolution.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within the business are essential.
Great eye for detail, as well as honed organisational and time management skills.
Team player with an open, honest, and friendly attitude.
The ability to shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.
