About the role The Copyright Specialist coordinates and supports copyright strategy and activities for the University, including staff support, education programs, and digitisation activities. This role provides the opportunity to liaise with faculties and professional areas university-wide to support the continued learning and application of copyright, and, offers external networking opportunities with the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL), Universities Australia, and Open Access Australasia. There are also opportunities to participate in initiatives in the provision of scholarly resources, such as Open Educational Resources (OERs). About you To be successful in this role, you will have: An extensive understanding and application of the Copyright Act 1968 within the context higher education, and the ability to interpret and act on copyright license agreements to ensure copyright compliance. Highly developed communication skills to inform and educate stakeholders on copyright, including representing the University in copyright networks Australia wide. Demonstrated ability to lead and/or participate in projects and initiatives related to the access of the university's scholarly resources, providing copyright expertise. Highly developed problem-solving skills to assess, report, and resolve copyright issues, including risk assessment, delivering training, and applying other mitigation strategies as necessary to support compliance.    About the Group The University Library includes the Dixson Library, the Law Library and the University's Archives and Heritage Centre.
