About the role Are Media is on the hunt for a roving copy editor to work across the Women's Entertainment category, assisting on our weekly brands including Woman's Day, New Idea, TV Week, Who, Take 5 and that's life! This is an exciting role for someone who is incredibly versatile, can easily adapt their style and tone in print and online to match any brand, and has an eye for the finer details.
You'll work closely with the Editorial Director, Editor and Senior Copy Editor of all publications, ensuring quality always comes first and assisting writers with edits where needed.
Duties Stay up to date with celebrity, royal, TV/entertainment and breaking Aussie news.Copy edit and fact check magazine features – editorial and lifestyle - providing feedback and guidance for writers and contributors.Help maintain the overall tone of the publication being worked on.Take charge of legal checks and prepublication processes where required.Adhere to a clear and effective workflow that always ensures best practice publication.Skills and experience Minimum 3 years' experience on a magazine, website, or related industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail that is second to none.Ability to change tone and style to match any of the publications in the weekly category.Ability to deal with a fast-paced, changing environment.Experience with editorial software applications.Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
