About theRole Thiskey leadership role leads a large team across a diverse technicalrange of Water Reticulation and Bulk Water assets responsible forthe effective and efficient operation of Council's waternetwork. The Water section provides water collection, distributionand treatment services in accordance with Council's customerstandards, policies, procedures and relevant legislation, with theobjective to prevent environmental harm and to ensure publichealth, safety and wellbeing.
Inthis role you will lead a proactive safety culture across the WaterNetworks team coordinating a broad range of Water operationalactivities, maintenance and Capital projects.
Thisrole will drive a positive culture to ensure that all teammembers are engaged, well-trained and motivated to ensure thateveryone goes home safe and well. This position will also advancecustomer service, quality and productivity and ensure that Councilcomplies with all environmental legislation and regulation relatedto Wastewater.
Aboutyou Tobe successful in this role, tertiary level qualification/s in Civilor Mechanical Engineering and eligibility to apply for membershipof Engineers Australia is desirable.
Itis also desirable for the role to have Professional Engineer inQueensland (RPEQ) registration or eligibility to satisfy theregistration criteria and have a Certificate IV in WaterIndustry Operations or ability and willingness to obtain thisqualification within two years of commencement in thisposition. You will also have a "C" class driver licence and aConstruction Industry White Card (30215 QLD). 
Youwill have extensive experience in the management, operations,maintenance, construction and control of water infrastructure, andsystems and experience in the management and supervision ofprofessional, technical, operational, maintenance andadministration staff. You will also have highly developed writtencommunication, organisational, administrative and budgetingskills.
Youwill have the ability to analyse and interpret engineeringsituations and problems to develop technical designs and solutionsA high level of people management, project management andprioritisation skills is also required.
