Coordinator Waste and Recycling Collections Contract (4 Years) Full Time Supportive Work/Life Balance Attractive salary package of circa $148,372 per annum (including superannuation) Location – Rockhampton Your new role Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking an accomplished professional to step into the role of Coordinator, Waste and Recycling Collections. This position is instrumental in overseeing the efficient and compliant operation of waste collection and recycling services. With a commitment to safety, sustainability, and fiscal responsibility, you will lead the team in delivering high-quality services to the Rockhampton community while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative requirements. As a hardworking, forward-thinking professional, you will lead the team to achieve objectives with commercial benefit for Council whilst balancing the service obligations to the local community. With the ability to mentor and motivate a team, you will manage in a safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective manner, ensuring your team have a unified approach and work effectively as a team. This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check). What we are looking for Proven experience in day labour waste management operations, with a background in team supervision and budget management. Experience in the provision of waste and recycling services in a Local Government framework. Strong understanding of relevant environmental regulations, local laws, workplace health and safety standards and the heavy vehicle operational requirements. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a customer service mindset. Experience in managing contracts, budgets and operational planning. Familiarity with waste collection software systems and technology. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team to plan and deliver day-to-day and long-term goals. Demonstrated knowledge in environmental and safety regulation with a focus on compliance, best practice, value and environmental sustainability.
