Coordinator Sustainability and Resource RecoveryThere is an exciting opportunity with the Sustainability and Resource Recovery team for a Coordinator Sustainability and Resource Recovery. This role supports the implementation of the Shire's Sustainability and Resource Recovery Program and delivers programs consistent with the Council Plan. This role coordinates all aspects of waste management with a primary focus on promoting positive environmental outcomes and driving waste management practices that minimise landfilling. The position is responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the requirements of legislation, regulations and licence conditions relating to the area of responsibility.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure that existing and future waste and resource management projects and programs meet the strategic targets and objectives of the Council Plan.Assist the manager in the delivery of nominated projects including the Food Organics Garden Organics Kerbside Collection Service and Wylie Bay Waste Management Facility transition to the new site at Myrup.Work alongside the manager to deliver shire contracts in relation to waste management while adopting a contemporary focus on resource recovery and sustainability.About youIn order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:Qualifications in Project Management, Environmental Science, Waste Management, or a related field, and/or extensive relevant experience.Understanding of legislative frameworks and requirements relevant to waste management and sustainability.Proven ability to prepare and effectively monitor budgets and prepare financial reports.Salary: $94,580.00 per annumPermanent staff are entitled to:5 weeks annual leave per yearMinimum of 11.5% superannuation employer contributionSuperannuation co-contribution offered to a maximum of 5%Free access to the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre (pool & gym)Access to career development opportunitiesEmployee wellness initiatives including Employee Assistance Program, skin checks and flu vaccinationsApplications close on the 8th of December 2024, however, recruitment may be closed at any time without further notice.
