Band 8 - Salary Range $120,224 to $134,591 per annum + 11% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen within the City Strategy Team for a Coordinator of Strategic Planning. You will report directly to the Manager of City Strategy, managing and providing guidance on the preparation, assessment, and implementation of plans strategic documents, and other projects that require strategic planning expertise. 
Key Responsibilities Manage, motivate and provide advice to the Strategic Planning Team, offering expertise in planning, urban design, project management, and strategic outcomes.Review and manage plans, strategies, policies, and guidelines and provide feedback to consultants and other Council departments and participate/lead in the development of policy.Work collaboratively across Council on plans, strategies, policies, guidelines and the coordination of committees.Develop effective relationships with Stakeholders including the State Government Departments and service authorities, the community, Councillors, developers and traders. To view the Position Description, click here .
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or a related discipline with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise, alternatively lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience, or intensive specialist experience.Substantial and demonstrated experience in a broad range of strategic planning work including the preparation of Precinct Structure Plans and the development of planning policies.Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, preparing projects briefs and delivering high quality outputs.Well-developed skills in negotiations and conflict resolution with an ability to deal with complex situations and present a positive Council image.Culture and Values Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there's a place here for you too. Our organisational values represent us as an established growth Council and the values are reflected in everything we do; our decision-making, our actions and our service provision to the community.
