Coordinator Security & Intelligence Operations - Youth Justice Coordinator Security & Intelligence Operations, Youth Justice Ongoing, Full time Location: Sydney Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary ($120,859 - $133,183 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading The Department of Communities and Justice acknowledges lived experience and how it contributes to the valuable work we do with the community. Your role Manages the operations of the Security & Intelligence (S&I) Unit, including supporting agency operations through collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of accurate and relevant security information, managing Drug Detection Dog operations, and urinalysis testing.
Liaise with operational staff and other organisations to ensure a cooperative approach to production of intelligence and maintenance of security within Centres.
What you'll do Oversee and direct the S&I team to ensure consistent service delivery of intelligence advice across all areas of Youth Justice. Assist with research, analysis and implementation of strategies and methodologies to improve the Units effectiveness and comply with government legislation and Department policies and procedures. Communicate regularly with Centre managers and other clients to determine individual needs and to schedule security operations including critical incident support, audits and security reviews, searches and to deliver training activities across all centres. Develop and implement policies, practices and the agency's response to drug use by detainees. Provide expert advice to the Director Operations & Metropolitan Custody and the Senior Manager, Court Logistics, Classification and Placement on key risks and trends developing in detention centres. Prepare briefings and other high-level correspondence, reports and statistics and produce regular security reports. Manage and maintain the intelligence database, Condor, and ensure it is up to date and accurate. Ensure that urinalysis testing is conducted at all centres in compliance with agency procedures and policies. Co-ordinate Use of Force Committee on a rotational basis when necessary. What we're looking for Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent experience Current NSW driver's licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW. Must be able to acquire a National Security Clearance at the NV1 level within three months of appointment. Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:
