About the Position: The City of Stirling is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Coordinator Rates & Receivables. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about creating positive and inclusive outcomes for our community. As a Coordinator, you will have the chance to take ownership of your work, manage transitions smoothly, and advocate for staff, ensuring buy-in and maintaining a positive culture. Key Responsibilities: Effective Stakeholder Relationships: Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure consistent service quality and efficiency.Workload Coordination: Coordinate the team's workload and manage staff leave and absences during peak periods.Rates Administration: Lead the administration of the Council's rates functions, including distribution of notices, property valuation adjustments, and pensioner concessions.Debt Recovery: Proactively coordinate and manage debt recovery procedures, adhering to the Council's Hardship Policy.Team Leadership: Manage, lead, and mentor the Rates and Receivables team, ensuring high performance and professional development.Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for the team, assisting with resolving customer enquiries and disputes, ensuring timely collections activities.Efficiency and Priorities: Drive efficiency within the team, focusing on City priorities and achieving short- and longer-term goals.Resource Utilization: Facilitate effective utilization of time and resources to enhance capacity for key objectives.Collaboration: Value collaboration and teamwork, emphasizing the achievement of team goals.About You: To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
Self-motivation with excellent time management and analytical skills.A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, superior communication, and a collaborative style.Strong team leadership experience and a history of continuous improvement.Desired Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience (essential) leading and supervising a team within a similar role with a large organization.Understanding of Local Government Legislation and/or State/Federal Legislation.Experience with Technology One / OneCouncil Property and Rating System (advantageous).Effective time management and organizational skills.Application Process: Before applying, candidates are encouraged to carefully review the position description to understand the role's requirements fully.
