Coordinator Planning, Clerk Grade 7/8Work in a volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSWSignificant focus on developing and maintaining best practice emergency management strategies, policies, and systems to ensure effective hazard planning and risk reduction methods are identified and implemented to benefit communities of New South WalesJoin a high performing and motivated teamFulltime ongoing roleLocation: Based in Wollongong, with flexible working arrangements availableAbout the opportunity The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has an exciting opportunity for a planning professional looking to utilise and expand their skills and knowledge whilst working with a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
You will utilise your skills to lead teams to deliver emergency management planning, risk management and research outputs, including supervisory, mentoring and team engagement responsibilities.
Working within the Planning Team, you will take a key role in effectively building capability to meet community expectations and influence key whole of government and private entities around emergency planning, with a key focus of reducing the impact on communities in relation to the current flood risk.
You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to reduce future flood risk.
