Our Technical Services department is seeking a Coordinator Open Space Assets.Purpose:As Coordinator Open Space Assets, you will lead and manage a team in the investigation and development of policies, plans, guides, and designs for open spaces including the administration of Randwick Cemetery and activities on community land.This role will provide the opportunity to utilise your technical expertise, project negotiation skills, and critical thinking abilities to solve problems and contribute to projects that are both complex and exciting within an innovative and supportive environment.About the role:Manage the day-to-day operations and functions of the Open Space Assets team within allocated and budgetary constraints and on a basis that is competitive with external providers.Develop policies, plans, and guidelines to inform and control development and activities on community land.Ensure that all landscape designs and documentation in Council's Capital Works program are prepared and ready for construction within the required timeframes including community consultation.Provide specialist knowledge to advise on a wide range of technical and operational challenges relating to open space planning and management.Manage consultants to provide specialist services in accordance with agreements.Prepare correspondence and reports as required.About you:Tertiary Degree in Landscape Architecture, other relevant qualifications, and experience.Knowledge and experience in open space management within local government.Experience in leading and motivating small teams.Ability to control several projects simultaneously to ensure resources are managed appropriately.Employment in this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check with a result of no relevant adverse findings.Randwick City Council is an equal opportunity employer, and we value a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture.
