We are currently recruiting for a Coordinator of Nursing – Aged Care – Karlarra House Aged Care in the Pilbara is like no other: as the only stand-alone Residential Aged Care Facility operated by WA Country Health Service (WACHS), Karlarra House is a 56-bed facility supporting older Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, many with complex care needs including advanced dementia and other chronic conditions.
We are seeking more than an experienced nurse – you are a specialist aged care practitioner who thinks outside the box; can deal with complex issues and has a genuine love for serving older people living in remote WA.
You are a leader who will inspire the team to deliver person-centred care and guide them towards contemporary best practice care.
You will be supported in your role with a dedicated care team including a Clinical Nurse Manager.
With a strong emphasis on clinical governance, there is a mix of Clinical and Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and onsite allied health.
Cultural support is provided by an on-site Aboriginal Liaison Officer who provides a link with Aboriginal residents, families and their communities.
We are deeply connected to our community with a culturally inclusive program being provided by a dedicated Activities and Lifestyle coordinator.
Position Overview: Provides effective high-level Aged Care leadership and governance including coordination and integration of health services to Karlarra House Residential Aged Care Facility.
Mentors and supports the Pilbara Community and Aged Care team.
Leads the clinical and non-clinical teams in the compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, guidelines and Aged Care Quality Standards.
Responsible for continuous quality improvement and resident safety.
