About the role:
The role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of MRM Ore Preparation, Concentrator, Concentrate Haulage and Bagging, TSF, and Water Management. The coordinator is responsible for establishing safe operating practices to achieve production targets in a cost-effective manner while implementing sustainable improvements. Additionally, the role includes implementing and maintaining hazard and risk management systems and mentoring work teams for compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Encourage and support incident and injury management processes.
• Manage the MRM Production department to ensure safe operations under Glencore SafeWork Practices, Fatal Hazard Protocols, and Life Saving Behaviours.
• Manage activities and assets within the MRM Production area, including labor and resource allocation.
• Ensure direct reports are fit for work, trained, and competent.
• Optimize shift operating costs by effectively using the dry hire fleet and labor hire contractors.
• Conduct regular operational inspections of all relevant areas to ensure safe operations and compliance.
• Plan shift operations and develop pre-emptive strategies to minimize downtime and unplanned shutdowns.
• Develop a high-performance culture within the MRM Production department.
• Train and coach MRM operations personnel on effective behaviour, procedures, and operational strategies.
• Support the Production Superintendent in meeting production targets and monthly KPIs.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve business continuity.
• Develop and provide input into procedures, training packages, and standard work instructions.
• Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance of MRM Production crews.
Successful applicant will have:
• Understanding of Metallurgy Ore Preparation, Concentrator, Concentrate Haulage and Bagging, TSF, and Water Management
• Knowledge of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements for surface mining.
• Experience in supervising and developing large work teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel).
• Knowledge and experience with Ellipse program.
• Experience in budgeting processes.
