About the Role In the role of Coordinator – Hospitality Services you are a key member of an inter-disciplinary team providing high quality; person centred care as well as contributing to the forward planning and development of services at the Residential Home. In this role you will oversee the coordination and support of the non-clinical team at the Residential Home.
Key Role Accountabilities: Oversee the day-to-day non-clinical operation of the Residential Home in accordance with documented policy, procedure and policy frameworks. Provide leadership as part of the management team of Residential Home and support the activities necessary for a successful residential aged care home. Oversee and support business efficiencies for Residential Home in relation to income/expenditure reporting and monitoring of costs.Contribute to workforce planning, including the recruitment and selection of non-clinical staff in such as catering, cleaning and laundry staffing consultation with the Residential Home Manager. Oversee the efficient usage and procurement of supplies including but not limited to kitchen, cleaning and linenCo-ordinate room turnovers including notifications to Maintenance and overseeing the progress of the work in a timely manner ensuring the quality of the work standard. Contribute to the ongoing development of the strategic direction of Residential facility and WMQ by participating in formal organisational strategic and operational planning. Manage and participate in the operational supervision and support of the non-clinical staff (catering, cleaning, and laundry) including the implementation of performance appraisals and professional development plans. Promote and contribute to a positive working environment and culture within the Residential Home whilst ensuring that all staff comply WMQ's code of conduct.Adhere to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices by proactively identifying and recognising any health and environmental hazards and risk/s and accordingly take corrective action to minimise the risk of workplace injury and illness; Ensure that one's actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health, safety and wellbeing of any other person/s includes promptly reporting in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Ensure that infection control, food handling safety, safe work practices are followed at all times; complying with relevant standards, policies, procedures and legislation and all mandatory training are completed in a timely manner. Work in accordance with the Aged Care Standards and the Code of Conduct for Aged Car About You Demonstrated high-level leadership, management and organisation skills, including the ability to manage processes that support strategic direction and ensure the high performance and accountability of a team-based service.Demonstrated understanding and ability to interpret organisational policies, practices, requirements, objectives, and trends in the provision of services including service standards, guidelines, best practice and relevant accreditation processes. Experience and ability to work within financial and funding parameters, including taking responsibility for the management of costs and reporting against and ensuring compliance with budget requirements. Demonstrated experience working with families within a health setting and commitment to the provision of a person-centred model of care. Demonstrated understanding of high-quality hotel / housekeeping and catering services. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage, negotiate, influence, collaborate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience and knowledge in human resource activities, including but not limited to recruitment, supervision, mentoring and leadership of staff ensuring a strong customer focus and continuous quality improvement culture.
