Who we are looking for  To be successful in this role you will:  Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7) in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline, or demonstrated knowledge and competencies appropriate to the work.
Extensive experience working with complex client matters.
Extensive experience working with children, youth, and families in a therapeutic context, including counselling and 1:1 work with children.
Experience in trauma informed practice.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Experience working within the community services industry.
It would be a bonus if you:  Experience in leadership and understanding of service provision.
Experience in community engagement.
Experience in providing practice supervision and skill development to other therapeutic workers providing services to children and young people.
What you will be doing ?  The Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of the Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS) and the team's provision of timely and seamless access to holistically family orientated and culturally appropriate services that support early intervention support to children and young people up to the age of 18 years who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental illness.
With management support, lead the FMHSS team to provide a direct service response to clients through intake, referral, advocacy, counselling, and collaborative case management.
Coordinate allocation of new clients to caseworkers and efficient management of the client allocation list.
Alongside RASA leadership (Management, CSO Senior Staff etc), develop and implement processes that support service promotion, service intake, referral, and provision of services to the FMHSS client base.
Conduct child centered assessments and risk screening of clients referred, working in a whole family context.
Undertake child focused and trauma informed case work with vulnerable and complex families.
Develop and deliver therapeutic and educational group programs that meet the objectives of the FMHSS program through schools, community and other areas as identified through consultation with RASA Management and wider community.
Provide practical assistance tailored to the needs and situation of each child, young person and family.
