Coordinator Economic Development and Tourism Job No:MEL1052 Employment Status:Full time Closing Date: 1 May 2024 AEST Full Time Permanent Position Band 8 - Salary Range $120,224 to $134,591 per annum + 11% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen to coordinate the Economic Development team. This role will coordinate the Economic Development Business Unit in delivery of Economic Development programs that are aligned to the Council Wellbeing Plan.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build, foster and maintain positive working relationships including the capacity to resolve and negotiate conflicts in a timely manner with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Effectively coordinate Council's Economic Development team to deliver strategic outcomes, programmes, events, and projects.Identity and manage funding submissions that support economic development initiatives and programs for the local business community.Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of investment, labour market issues and programs at the Local, State and Commonwealth level.Promote existing business growth and attract new investment to improve local employment opportunities.To view the Position Description, click here .
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Economics or related discipline with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise, alternatively lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience, or intensive specialist experience.Substantial experience in economic development, tourism and/or related business or corporate environments.A demonstrated track record of success in the achievement of strategic objectives and substantial program and project delivery.Culture and Values Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there's a place here for you too. Our organisational values represent us as an established growth Council and the values are reflected in everything we do; our decision-making, our actions and our service provision to the community.
