Coordinator Community Facilities and Open Space Delivery
The Infrastructure Delivery Branch is responsible for the project management and construction of capital works for all customer and community facing infrastructure classes. The Community Facilities and Open Space Delivery unit is responsible for delivering infrastructure projects in the categories of community facilities and open space. The unit is also responsible for administering the City's Local Area Works (LAW) program.About your new roleAre you a visionary leader ready to make a significant impact? We are searching for an exceptional individual to lead our team into a future of success and innovation!Through sound leadership and planning, the Coordinator – Community Facilities and Open Space Delivery provides high-level coordination of project management services for the delivery of the capital works program in a cost effective and timely manner, and in accordance with the organisational objectives of Council.Coordinating project management and delivery of defined projects for the financial year, including forward planning projects, design only projects and construction projects.Assisting asset custodians with the development of four-year capital expenditure programs and defined projects for the forthcoming financial year, ensuring effective and efficient project delivery.Providing project and financial reports on program and project status to senior management and asset custodians, as required.Ensuring that project delivery adheres to the project management methodology (Project delivery governance process) and department procedures.Ensuring that the provisions of all relevant legislation, regulations, agreements, standards, best practice and policies are applied and adhered to in projects.Supporting the branch leadership team with the development and communication of Council's Corporate and Operational Plans.Maintaining appropriate networks with other organisational units, external organisations and other levels of government.About youYou hold an Advanced Diploma in Project Management or have demonstrated equivalent business experience and knowledge.You hold a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management or have demonstrated equivalent business experience and knowledge.A natural leader who champions change and develops people to achieve their personal and organisational goals.You manage, motivate and assess performance of team members, ensuring effective and efficient management and development.Substantial knowledge and experience in procurement and contract administration of major infrastructure construction and service programs/projects.You are a "can do" person who thrives on innovatively solving problems in a complex environment.Ability to bring in new ideas and challenge the status quo to bring about continuous improvement.You hold a C Class Drivers Licence Unrestricted.You hold a General Construction Induction White Card (desirable).Be part of shaping the Gold Coast's futureThe Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity.
