Manage the Accounts team within the Finance Branch to provide timely and accurate accounts payable and receivable, transactional, banking and GST compliance services that comply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight- flexible options available.

Duties Manage the Accounts team within the Finance Branch to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable and receivable transactions, contributing to reliable financial management reporting. Manage the integrity of data in the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers in the financial management information system, including regular reconciliations and undertaking quality assurance. Ensure financial and transactional processes and policies comply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including development of recommendations to the Director and implementation of new policies and procedures to ensure sound financial control. Manage taxation, compliance and advice, in regard to the Goods and Services Tax, including advice, analysis and solutions to complex GST matters. Manage the Department's banking activities, including the relationship with the service provider, processing of payments and receipts and reconciliation of bank accounts. Manage the integration of financial and transactional processing practices of Divisions, including coordination of changes arising from Departmental restructuring and provision of authoritative advice to Divisions. Coordinate processes within relevant financial management information systems to ensure effective day-to-day support for accounts payable and receivable processes. Establish and develop relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that a high level of customer service is achieved, and the provision of high-level accounting and financial advice and assistance to Department managers and staff. Provide financial and system training for staff within the Finance Branch and officers performing outsourced financial activities. Ensure all fees calculated using the Fee Units Act 1997 are correctly calculated and published. Lead and manage change in respect of the development, review and improvement of transaction processing systems and the development and implementation of new financial policies, practices and procedures. Undertake corporate or other projects with financial management implications and other duties as assigned by the Director Finance.
