The Role:
Due to continued growth, Cooper Grace Ward has an excellent opportunity for a driven and highly skilled Senior Lawyer to join our property, planning and environment team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in environmental law, with a particular focus on environmental offsets and carbon sequestration and land access agreements and arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and negotiating environmental offsets and carbon sequestration agreements
Collaborate with clients to develop strategies that align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals
Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry trends
Contribute to the firm's expertise in environmental law
About you:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
5+ years' experience in a similar role
Excellent knowledge and understanding of environmental obligations supporting major development projects such as mining, large scale development and infrastructure projects
Expertise in drafting and negotiating environmental offsets and carbon sequestration agreements
Excellent knowledge of land access agreements and arrangements necessary to support major projects
Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate high quality work
Excellent client service orientation with a desire to strengthen and build client relationships to continually contribute to the growth and success of the firm
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
