Opening in 2025 with 97 rooms and a mix of den, studio and 1 bedroom suites, Hyatt House South Melbourne will offer living accommodations for longer stays designed to provide guests with all the comforts of home.
An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for Cooks to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. As a Cook, you will be working within our Food and Beverage team to support the Chef de Partie, to ensure all employees deliver a high standard of service for our customers. The responsibilities are not limited to:
Embracing all Touches of Hyatt and the Food and Beverage Top 20 and ensuring its implementation.Responding to the results of the Consumer Audit and ensuring the relevant changes are implemented.Ensuring that all dishes from the section are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.Assisting the Senior chef in ensuring those culinary standards comply with Company and Hotel Policies and Procedures and Minimum Standards.Monitoring food and operating costs by reducing wastage.Becoming familiar with all sections of the kitchen to facilitate the flexible use of employees.Ensuring that kitchen and operating equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.We are looking for someone who is curious minded, energetic, passionate, and connected to the latest and newest. QualificationsYour background: To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
Certificate of Hospitality IV (currently completing, or completed)A current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificateStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage your timeThe flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidaysHyatt House employees enjoy, but are not limited to:
