Temporary Part time opportunity to perform all duties associated with the preparation and cooking of patient food requirements to ensure a quality meal service which meets the necessary dietary requirements within Qld Health guidelines.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Demonstrated high level cooking skills and a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques of cookery. Perform a range of routine meal preparation tasks as outlined on daily duty statements and procedures, or as directed by a Supervisor. General kitchen duties include but are not limited to, preparation of meal components, completion of food safety documentation, cooking, quality control, meal presentation and general cleaning as directed, ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with approved procedures. Responsibility for food preparation, production and service of hot and cold food for room service. The role works as part of a team to produce room service meals for patients with tasks including: working and maintaining a clean grill, room service line set up, portioning and preparation of menu items and stock control of drawers in cook's area of the room service line. The cook will also be responsible for meal preparation and production for patients who are receiving an alternative food service (i.e. non room service).
