It is situated in the heart of Atherton, on the tropical tablelands. The hotel provides a wide variety of facilities and services for visitors including accommodation, restaurant and bar and bottle shops.Barron Valley Hotel has a vacancy opening for a Cook. We are looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to join our team.Major Duties and Responsibilities of Position:· Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment· Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)· Check quality of ingredients· Seasons food according to recipes or company needs· Prepare, serve and store food items in regards to the requirements of the Kitchen· Prepares food before the arrival of the guests· Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements· Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment· Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes· Assists other cooks during the food assembly process· Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages· Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen· Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and Hotel policy· Liaise and work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef and assist them to ensure safe and efficient production of food, while maintaining all statutory requirements· Establish and maintain effective employee working relationshipsDesirable Qualifications and Skills:· Certificate 111 in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent is a minimum requirement.· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cook.· Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware· Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)· Ability to follow all sanitation procedures· Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment· Experiences in similar roleJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $70,000.00 per yearDay range:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilityPhysical setting:RestaurantShift:8 hour shiftDay shiftEvening shiftApplication Deadline: 15/05/2024Expected Start Date: 01/06/2024#J-18808-Ljbffr
