Position Title: Cook/Chef
Location: Warilla Child Care Centre, Catering for 81 Children
Hours: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday (30 hours per week)

Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for young children to learn and grow, which includes offering nutritious meals that align with NSW Healthy Eating Guidelines and Munch & Move program standards.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, child-friendly meals in line with dietary guidelines and managing the kitchen operations and its cleanliness. Working closely with Munch & Move specialists and using their resources, you will develop a bi-weekly menu that supports the healthy growth and development of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare a bi-weekly menu that aligns with NSW Healthy Eating Guidelines, incorporating fresh and nutritious ingredients. Collaborate with Munch & Move specialists to ensure the menu meets all dietary and nutritional requirements. Prepare morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea for 81 children each day. Maintain the kitchen in accordance with hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards. Ensure all meals cater to dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requirements. Keep up-to-date with food safety regulations and participate in ongoing food handling training (organised through the service). Manage kitchen inventory, order ingredients, and maintain stock levels to prevent shortages. Follow all relevant health and safety guidelines, including safe food preparation and storage. Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and sanitation as per national and centre policies. Communicate effectively with centre staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations. Adhere to the centre's policies and procedures, including ensuring food is served on time. Requirements:
Experience in meal planning and cooking. Knowledge of food safety and handling, with the ability to gain food handling certification (training will be organised through the service). Ability to develop healthy, balanced menus that meet the needs of young children. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid NSW Working with Children Check. Familiarity with the Munch & Move program is advantageous but not essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
