Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually.
Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process.
The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD.
Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation.
We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the role:We are currently seeking an experienced Conveyor Overhauls Coordinator to join our Engineering Team.
In this role you will report to the Superintendent Infrastructure and will be based on site at Kestrel mine working a Monday to Friday or 9-day fortnight.

What's on Offer:Permanent role on a site with a long mine life.Work Life Balance – working Monday to Friday or a 9-day fortnight.Residential role allowing you to be home every night.Generous salary package with a competitive incentive structure.Company Housing Options.Salary sacrificing and salary packaging options.Generous Health Benefits including options for subsidised private health insurance.Working for an organisation that values their people and will invest in your future.Opportunity to partake in internal and external personal and professional development programmes.In this role, you will support Kestrel by:Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to define and develop scopes for routine and one-off overhaul activities.Prepare detailed estimates and secure budget approvals for projects.Partner with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and internal stakeholders to design conveyor systems and equipment that meets stringent requirements for reliability, performance, and suitability.Conduct thorough equipment inspections to ensure that overhaul quality and scheduling align with mine installation requirements.Develop and prepare specifications for factory and site acceptance testing of mechanical equipment.Create comprehensive maintenance procedures and training packages for both new and overhauled assets.Provide cross-departmental support to enhance overall operational performance as needed.About you:A minimum of 5 years of hands-on planning experience in maintenance roles within the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors, with a preference for experience in conveyor systems.Strong commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction at all levels of the organization.Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a trade qualification accompanied by at least 5 years of relevant experience (preferred).Mining Supervisor accreditations including G1/G2/G8/G9 or willingness to obtain.At Kestrel, we are ONE.
