ABOUT THE POSITION Our business seeks a Construction and Commissioning Lead SMP to join our team on a two-year fixed term full-time basis, at our Kwinana Refinery.
Reporting to the Principal Commissioning Engineer the successful applicant will be responsible for providing recommendations to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the mechanical equipment has performed as designed and is ready to proceed to project closeout.

Position specific Job Responsibilities The Commissioning responsibility commences from Construction Verification (Stage 1), Functional Testing (Stage 2), No Load (Wet) Commissioning (Stage 3), Load (Ore) Commissioning (Stage 4) through to Performance Verification (Stage 5). 
Stage 1 Construction verification
At the Construction Verification stage, you will be responsible for verifying that all Structural, Mechanical and Piping, constructed by a third-party contractor, has been constructed as per design, is complete and safe to commission. You will review Manufacturers Data Reports and ensure critical Inspection Test Reports are complete and create a punch list. Activities include but are not limited to;
Alignment of rotating equipment,Vendor packages are complete including equipment internals, Piping is complete. This will be an ongoing process throughout construction. Recommend to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the plant is mechanically complete and ready to proceed to Stage 2 commissioning.
Stage 2 Functional testing
Completion of Inspection Test Reports (ITRs).Equipment operation has been calibrated, tested and verified.Troubleshoot. Rectify issues whether by Owner or Construction Contractor.Recommend to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the mechanical equipment has been functionally tested and ready to proceed to Stage 3 commissioning.Dry testing of material transfer systems and wet testing of slurry and fluid transport systems.Equipment is dynamically tested, and protection devices proven.Water circuits are established to test and tune the operation of plant and equipment.Troubleshoot and rectify issues. Liaise with OEM as required. Recommend to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the mechanical equipment has been "No load" tested and ready to proceed to Stage 4 commissioning.Stage 4 Load (Ore) commissioning
Ore introduced into the plant to enable start-up condition monitoring of rotating equipment and collection of equipment data under load.Monitor to ensure equipment operates safely under load.Hand over equipment to Operation's Production and Maintenance team.Troubleshoot and rectify issues. Liaise with OEM as required.Recommend to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the mechanical equipment has been "load" tested and ready to proceed to Stage 5 commissioning.Stage 5 Performance verification
Plant operated under normal conditions and throughput ramp up to design specification and equipment data sheets.Monitor equipment performance and verify they're align with performance specification.Troubleshoot and rectify issues. Liaise with OEM as required.Recommend to the Principal Commissioning Engineer that the mechanical equipment has performed as designed and is ready to proceed to project closeout.OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate an overriding commitment to the continual improvement of health, safety. environmental responsibility and sustainable development across the business.Commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all our people.Supervise the works of Commissioning Technician Mechanical.Oversight of construction activity by third party contractors. Safely isolate plant and equipment as per the PTW requirements.Ensure compliance to SAP processes for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system.Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the commissioning process.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards and participate in workplace investigations or observations as required.Maintain high levels of housekeeping and general standards for plant, equipment, stores and tools.Undertake necessary, relief positions within relevant skills and competencies.Undertake the day roster (Monday to Friday) however, must be willing to occasionally work nights or weekends, particularly during start-up of new equipment or refinery shutdown. Carry out all tasks required within relevant skills and competencies.Minimise operating costs, including sensible use of consumables, recycling and elimination of waste.Participate in planning and preparation.Participate in the Success Factors process and strive to achieve set KPIs.Participate in a team environment committed to achieving the business objectives.Participate in setting team goals which are directly linked to achieving the overall business objectives.Participate in the development of individual and team standards of quality. Maintain constructive working relationships with internal customers, suppliers and other crews.Achieve designated individual, team and business objectives.All other tasks as assigned as business needs and within skill set.Actively promote and embrace Tianqi Values.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  Minimum of 10 years fixed plant maintenance experience in a heavy industry or refining plant and solid understanding of mineral processing operations.Minimum five years supervisor experience. Experience commissioning and start-up of mineral processing equipment.Sound knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements.Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others eg, E&I technicians, production technicians, and liaise with all levels of the organisation such as supervisors, engineers, and managers. Commitment to training and upskilling self.Ability to prioritise and complete tasks.Sound verbal and written communication skills.Experience and sound utilisation of MS Office suite applications.DESIRABLE  Experience commissioning and start-up of specialised mineral processing equipment such as milling, kiln, heaters, coolers, scrubbers, filtration, reactors, crystallisation, and drying. SAP experience.High Risk Licence EWP.National accreditation Confined Space.National accreditation Working at Heights.HOW DO I APPLY?
