The roster is (38 hr week with option for 9 Day compressed fortnight) based residentially in the Parkes region of NSW.
About the role
The Control Systems Engineer reports directly to the Senior Maintenance Engineer Electrical within the Reliability team in the Asset Management Department and is responsible for maintaining and improving the process control system, software and PCN infrastructure.
This role works closely with the process control technical team of operational plant and the Information Technology team with the aim of developing, maintaining, and supporting the process control system, software and PCN infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
Execute and implement any control system changes ensuring safety in operation, quality of work, management and recording of change and control system standards are met.
Ensure reliable operation of the electrical control systems across the mine infrastructure and fixed plant.
Monitor performance, championing change, and instigating and managing improvement projects that are supported by Condition monitoring information, Root Cause Analysis, asset management recommendations or stakeholder's feedback.
Continuously audit performance and identify improvement opportunities in process control and network infrastructure.
About you
Experience within a mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing operation.
Proficient in Automation Systems with Extensive experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, including Schneider Unity, CitectSCADA, Beckhoff, and Rockwell RS Logix. Familiarity with OPCDA is a significant advantage.
Solid understanding of Industrial Ethernet networking infrastructure and systems.
Previous experience in customer support with a focus on commissioning and fault-finding. Strong background in OT/IT system design and support.
Ability to work in a team environment and have effective communication skills.
Relevant Educational Background: A Degree or Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation, OT-related disciplines, electronic or electrical engineering.
