We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and talented Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Group. This position plays a leading role in the deployment of electrical control systems. This includes design, documentation, testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software. The position also provides substantial opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfil the work requirements.

Development of functional specificationsConformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all workPreparation of electrical schematic drawings, PLC programs and configuration of operator interfacesConfiguration of SCADAPreparation of manufacturing and installation specificationsPlanning and supervision of major controls installationsManaging the procurement of parts, the manufacture of cabinets and the electrical installationControls project cost controlTesting and commissioning on customer sitesPreparation of test plans and operator & technical manualsHanding over projects to our Customer Service teamWhat We Are Looking ForKey skills, qualifications and attributes include:
Degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific disciplineIdeal role for those with experience in electrical design and installationSound knowledge of requirements of AS3000 & AS4024.1Experience in machine control, safety and functional safety principlesExperience in SCADA's like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCCKnowledge of materials handling system controlsExperience in writing of technical documentationKnowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devicesWillingness to travel during the installation and commissioning phase of a project within Australia and occasionally overseas for extensive periodsAbility to work in project based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering teamIf you have the skills and experience required and are looking to further your career in a dynamic and innovative organisation, please click on the Apply button and submit your application.
