Position Overview: As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional financial acumen, who can manage a comprehensive range of accounting activities while supporting our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Prepare and present detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to senior management.
Develop and manage the budgeting process, including financial forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Oversee the functionality of the ERP system, ensuring data integrity, accurate reporting, and effective system utilization.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preference will be given to candidates with Australian study experience and familiarity with the Australian accounting system.
Proven experience of 2+ years in a similar role, with exposure to engineering operations.
Skills:
Exceptional financial analysis and reporting skills.
Proficient in using Smartsheet to enhance project management and streamline workflows.
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial software.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
