You will always have something to do, go to restaurants, movies, join a gym and sporting activities, play golf, as well as fishing and camping and activities at the lake.About this position:Your primary purpose will be to ensure our processing, smelting and surface operations are informed of weather patterns and prevailing air quality conditions to enable control strategies to be activated to maintain safe and compliant levels. This role will be working with stakeholders in the Health Safety Environment and Community (HSEC) team and across the wider business.Responsibilities:Working in the Air Quality Control Centre monitoring process control systems.Regularly communicating with stakeholders about air quality conditions and weather patterns.Studying weather forecasts and observations to prepare and present timely, accurate weather forecasts at a local level.Developing and applying control strategies, systems, and processes.Communicating conditions and decision reasoning to the smelting operations.Identifying opportunities to improve the air quality control system.Ultimately producing good air quality outcomes.What we are looking for from you:Ideally, you will have worked with air quality systems before or have previous experience with air quality control.You will be open to working a 24/7 continuous roster of 4:4 (days and nights).You have an interest in weather patterns and meteorological observation and assessment.Critical thinking: the ability to apply logic to follow predictable paths to make decisions.You can comfortably communicate and get along with others.Whilst you can work independently, you can also work as part of a team, sharing information, helping one another out, and collaborating to deliver consistent and high-quality results.Preferred Qualifications:Studies in a science-related discipline, environment, meteorology or similar.Ability to collate and interpret data into reports for others to understand.High-level knowledge and capability with computer systems.Prior knowledge of our smelter systems is valued but not essential.Roster: As this is a critical function, the Air Quality team operates on a morning and afternoon shift, you will work a 4 on 4 off day/night roster.How to apply: Apply now at https://www.glencore.com/careersFor more information, contact Madison Hard - Recruitment on 0417 915 903.Applications Close: 8:00am Thursday 19th December 2024.
