About the role
This is a permanent full-time opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station.
As the Control Systems Technician you will join a team of 7 other control system technicians and instrument and control engineers working to provide control, protection and monitoring system support to the control system infrastructure installed at Stanwell Power Station.
This role is responsible for ensuring that the power station control, protection, and monitoring systems are maintained in accordance with best practice principles, relevant standards and codes whilst continuously improving the technical, environmental and commercial performance.
Key activities include:
Operation and maintenance of a modern control system composing of DCS, interconnected operational technology data networks, PLC, HMI, Safety instrumented systems and turbine control systems.
Investigate and correct Control System failures /operational technology failures.
Identify, design, install and commission plant control system improvements and modifications.
Interpret technical drawings, interpret controls system logic diagrams and O&M manuals.
Identify improvements to enhance system monitoring and ease of operations in consultation with plant strategy areas.
Monitor plant processes and instrumentation to identify improvements in process control strategies.
Obtain and analyse plant health and performance data.
About you
An Electrical/Electronic or Instrument Trade Qualification.
An Associate Degree in Electrical, Instrument Engineering or Information Technology (or equivalent) – applicants who are actively studying or willing to study toward these qualifications will also be considered.

Ability to configure, operate and maintain DCS/PLC systems (preferably Siemens) including Human Machine Interface and interconnected operational technology data networks.
Operational technology knowledge including cyber security awareness is desirable.
Experience in safety instrumented systems is desirable.
