A prerequisite for this position is that you will have experience working at Olympic Dam.This is a contracting opportunity attracting an excellent hourly rate, for an immediate start.Role Type: Fly-In Fly-Out, or Drive-In-Drive-Out, or Residential @ Roxby DownsRoster: Day ShiftRotation: 7 days on, followed by 7 days offYou will join the Technology Team and support the process control systems within the mine including critical air/water/fuel services, locomotive control, and monitoring of auxiliary systems.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.Investigate and identify the root cause of related downtime caused by control systems while identifying and executing solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring.Standardising and improving code in control systems including all critical controls ensuring minimised safety, risk, volume, or cost impacts.Strict adherence to the management of change processes.Carry out preventative maintenance and routine inspections of process control equipment.Execute control systems design and commissioning for minor plant modifications and new equipment installation.Initiate and implement minor control systems improvement work to achieve safer and more reliable plant, maintaining and improving process efficiencies.About YouTertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Control Systems Engineering, or Trade qualifications in Electrical or Instrumentation discipline with equivalent industry and organisational experience.Experience in heavy or mining industry.Experience in solving multi-faceted problems.Experience in instrumentation and hardware troubleshooting highly regarded.Strong PLC programming and hardware configuration skills as well as SCADA/HMI programming skills. Preferably experienced across:Rockwell Automation product suiteCitect SCADAFactory Talk ViewDemonstrated previous experience in Field Communication protocols:EthernetIP, Modbus, Profibus & DeviceNetValid Australian C class driver's licence.High degree of competence with Industrial Control Systems design, development, deployment, transition, and support.You must have full working rights in Australia.
