ResponsibilitiesMake an impact
Swisslog is seeking a highly motivated Controls Support Engineer to join our growing Customer Service team.
This role plays a key part in ensuring our customers receive the highest level of support and are offered solutions providing continuous improvements.
Here's what you'll do:Analyze customer requirements and develop control system specifications for new projects.Deliver fully tested and documented control systems that meet project timelines and budgets.Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify issues within control systems, document findings and analysis results comprehensively.Provide breakdown support, process investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives for existing systems.Escalate technical issues to mechanical, electrical, and software resources as needed.Develop and implement bug fixes, design and execute improvements and enhancements to optimize system performance.
Maintain up-to-date records of all modifications and updates to control systems.Provide technical support to the sales department for proposals and tenders.Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers, providing second-level technical support.May have the opportunity to work on projects away from home and potentially overseas.Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.Application RequirementsWhat you need to succeedBachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).Electrical qualifications would be an advantage.3+ years of industrial experience with sound knowledge of at least one of the following hardware platforms and associated programming languages – Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens S7.Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings.Experience in programming with structured text language (as defined in IEC61131), Siemens STL and function block diagram.Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet and modern field buses (EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i), AC drives and design experience of HMI systems would be an advantage.Practical experience of electrical/controls engineering & electrical installation.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
