Role Overview: The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed control system designs that comply with client and site requirements. Responsibilities include:
Lead automation projects ensuring scope completion through timely, cost-effective, and smarter engineering practices. PLC and RTU system design, programming, testing, and commissioning. SCADA and HMI system design, programming, testing, and commissioning. Communications network design, configuration, and commissioning (RF, fibre, TCP/IP & industrial protocols, including Modbus, DNP, Ethernet/IP, etc.). Design and implement relevant control system cyber security methods and principles. Develop and manage engineering changes and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders. Design and interpretation of P&ID drawings. Participate in design review meetings as applicable. Design schematics, network architecture, ELV systems, and panel configuration using AutoCAD software. Develop functional design specifications (FDS), factory & commissioning test documentation. Keep abreast of latest developments in industrial automation technology and introduce them to RJE operations. Lead site commissioning works and defect rectification as applicable. Essential Criteria & Experience Required: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) and minimum 5 years' experience. Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards related to Electrical Systems. Control systems experience in the power, renewables, mining, and/or utility sectors. Willing to learn with an adaptable, flexible & positive attitude. The ability to work in a close team environment and interface with clients. Self-starter who takes ownership of tasks through to completion. Construction industry white card. Member of Engineers Australia (or eligible). CPEng / Registered Engineer status. Experience with commissioning of control systems. Experience with substation/industrial communication protocols. Benefits: Collaborative team environment.
