As Controls System Engineer, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.
Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
You must be able to work night shift and day shift when the business need arises (note – this role is primarily assigned to night shift).
Major Responsibilities:Material handling and process plant instrumentation design for small/medium/large size projects.Preparation of study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications, functional specification, datasheets and MTOs.Proposal preparation and cost estimates.Selection/specification of instrumentation in accordance with equipment datasheets.Design/modify panel layout, schematic wiring and termination diagrams for industrial control systems.Developing changeover plans for brownfield control system upgrades.PLC and remote IO control system design.Design/layout of plant control rooms.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.Experience with functional safety system and TUV certification is highly regarded.Required Knowledge and Skills:A degree in engineering, demonstrated experience and CPEng status and current RPEQ.Demonstrated experience in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements.Demonstrated design and engineering experience in the mining and/or oil and gas handling.Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to instrumentation and control systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures.Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.SPI or Aveva Instrumentation experience is favourable.Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
