UON is currently seeking experienced and self-motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our Renewables team.
Your main responsibilities will include: Participate in the development of control systems and communications for renewable projects, including design, programming, debugging, testing, and commissioning.
Participate in the development of on-grid and off-grid products.
Practice continuous improvement strategies in day-to-day work through innovation, new learning, or simplification.
Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems that satisfy all stakeholders.
Conduct research into new technologies, design new solutions, and find ways to improve existing solutions.
Ensure the safety and compliance of all developed products.
Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent), specialising in Control Systems.
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience working in a similar role in the Engineering industry Extensive experience with on-grid and off-grid (microgrid) hybrid system design, installation & commissioning.
Experience in industrial communications and PLC programming.
Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS).
Experience power system dynamics associated with hybrid systems.
Experience with control system design.
Familiarity with Electric Vehicle charging protocols and processes.
Knowledge of Renewable Engineering theory and processes.
Knowledge of industrial process control, digital communication protocols (Profinet, CANbus, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP), and use of fibre or copper-based transmission methods.
