As a Control Engineer, you will maximise availability of the plant and processes and ensure they operate effectively and efficiently whilst adhering to all safety, environmental and energy standards.
What you'll be doing… Fault finding, modifications, improvements and back-ups of plant PLC and SCADA systems. Responsible for maintaining and improving plant networks (fiber-optic, Ethernet, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-Interface). Testing, fault finding and calibration of various instrumentation. Equipment Failures – carry out effective, efficient fault finding and problem resolution to root cause where possible on a wide range of complex systems in a continuous process environment. Safety & Compliance – apply and ensure compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Energy policy and procedures. Budget Control – support the engineering group by following all financial control procedures. Continuous Improvement – actively engaging in plant CI activities. Physical Infrastructure – support the engineering manager in maintaining the site, buildings, and equipment. Prepared to work as part of an on-call engineering team – providing out of hours support on a rota basis. To use and apply site and company management systems. Be willing to train on new equipment or learn new processes and systems relevant to the job as required. What we'd love for you to have: Time served multi-skilled engineer ideally with HNC qualification in a technical discipline or suitable knowledge through experience. Demonstrable achievements in continuous improvement and change management disciplines. IOSH Safety qualification. Trained in HV switching. Flexible to carry out any tasks as requested within their capability. Proactive mind-set and good planning skills. Computer literate with knowledge of SAP.
