In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration.
Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures.
Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties.
Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.Major Responsibilities:Subcontract ManagementImplements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project's agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract ManagementManages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficultiesCoordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major mattersManages less complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlementCommunicates information programs to ensure mutual understanding of subcontract terms and conditionsPrepares periodic status reports for managementSubcontract FormationConforms and ensures subcontract executionDirects negotiation in the commitment of subcontractsPrepares bidders' lists and pre-qualifies biddersForms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved biddersCoordinates bidders' questions and answers to those questionsReceives bids and evaluates bids commerciallyPrepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendationsRecommends and secures approvals in accordance with established proceduresPrepares subcontract documents for executionPrepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual mattersAfter reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedulesEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge and experience in the formation of contracts and contract agreements, including types, terms and legal requirementsExperience administering moderately complex construction industry (sub)contracts.Able to participate in (sub) contract negotiations.Skill in working and informing effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups.Knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.Knowledge and understanding of the project functional groups and company policies, procedures and work practices
