Contracts Specialist

Details of the offer

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to manage the allocation of contracts from Pre-Award to Post-Award. It will provide a high level of contracts support to the business by effectively tendering, negotiating, awarding, and administering assigned contracts and agreements on the McPhee Creek project.Responsibilities of this position include:Execute the competent performance of expressions of interest, tender evaluations and due diligence through to contract formation.Attending pre and post bid meetings.Terms and conditions negotiation.Quality assurance reporting and compliance monitoring.Preparation and compilation for commercial reports on the status of procurement and contracts including cost commitments, progress payments, variations, claims and correspondence.Management of contracts for a live major project in accordance with HanRoy's contractual and procedural requirements, legal requirements, codes and standards.To be successful in this position, you will have:Minimum of 7 - 10 years' experience in contracts management, administration and cost control for major mining, commercial or infrastructure construction projects.Experience working with tier one or two contractors.Degree in relevant field such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance or Law.An understanding of contract law and general law.Ability to review and fairly evaluate bids and tender packages.Ability to carry out like-for-like price reviews and adjustments according to rise and fall mechanisms.Strong skills with regards to the compiling and conforming of contracts and tender documents, including understanding various methods of measurement.Negotiation skills in relation to contractors, consultants and suppliers.Compilation and drafting of formal communication and correspondence to vendors in relation to project contracts administration.Experience in medium value and complexity contract development and management, ideally with exposure to the resource industry or similar.Ability to engage, develop relationships and drive favourable outcomes with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, sound business acumen, advanced documentation skills with high attention to detail.Join A World-Class Project TeamAs part of Australia's most successful private company, HanRoy has a mandate to lead the study, design, and development of a globally significant pipeline of projects that will provide ongoing supply of critical minerals and energy essential for everyday life.Hancock Prospecting companies are already some of the largest contributors to the Australian economy, providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs, supporting essential services, and helping raise living standards in both regional and primary population centres.
