In this critical role, you will be responsible for pre-contract negotiation and review, variation provisions, drafting clauses and all steps up to signing including ensuring compliance and to minimise risks with the support of an in-house Legal team, responsibilities include:
Overseeing contract management, claims, RFI's, contract negotiation, risk mitigation, and record-keeping Collaboration with the Estimating Team and Project Managers in ensuring contracts align with company needs, and that contractual and legal requirements are adequately understood and communicated Ensuring budgetary requirements are met by actively contributing to cost analysis and initiatives aimed at achieving savings Assist Project Managers with Contract compliance during the project delivery Review subcontractor variations, process invoices, and issuing subcontracts, where required Provide assistance in handling project financials, developing methodologies, defining trade scopes, handling bank guarantees and insurance Providing subject matter expertise in, and support to customer negotiations.
Contribute to the development of strategies and solutions to deliver upon complex contractual opportunities and issues Develop and implement contract management processes and procedures to streamline operations Analyse contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them Collaborate with In-House Counsel on more complex contract requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
At least 5 years' experience in leading contract negotiations and complex contracting activities, preferably in the construction industry Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers In-depth knowledge of contract law, regulations, and compliance requirements Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines An effective team player, proactive in supporting required project outcomes.
